Photo opportunities

Suggestions for photo and learning opportunities:

Spring Break: Save the date for the annual Spring Break photography learning event sponsored by the Twin City Area Council of Camera Clubs (TCACCC). This all-day event will be Saturday, March 21, 2020. It features a morning group session followed by lunch and breakout sessions in the afternoon. Watch for details at the TCACCC website.

St. Croix Valley Photo Scavenger Hunt: The club will be holding a photo scavenger hunt in the towns and parks along the St. Croix River.  Members will have one week to find photographs in nine categories, which are then judged for quality and appropriateness for the category.  We are looking at a week in May for 2020’s date.

Karl Oskar Days Photo Show: The SCVCC has a photo show as a regular part of the festivities in Lindstrom every July.  The show is held in the Chamber of Commerce Building on Highway 8.

Almelund Threshing Show: Held annually in August. More details:

Gammelgarden opportunity: Club members have been asked to photograph events at Gammelgarden in Scandia. They have asked if they could be allowed to use the photos as well. This will be an individual decision for each photographer. Read about more opportunities at their events page:

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum: Free admission the third Monday of each month. Grounds open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. More information.

Como Park Conservatory: Artist, photographer and family photo hours are available at a cost of $5/person. See more about photo hours. Also see their special events page for changing flower shows in the conservatory, senior strolls and more. See more about events.
