Suggestions for photo and learning opportunities:

Teaching/Volunteer opportunities:

Wisconsin Interstate Park: Wisconsin Interstate Park is looking for programs about nature photography. They are open to hearing all ideas, including a formal talk, photo hikes or a drop-in table answering photography questions. The park has an indoor theater and classroom as well as an outdoor amphitheater and a couple of shelters. They have several point and shoot digital cameras in case they are needed.Contact Adam Larson, Natural Resources Educator at Wisconsin Interstate Park if interested: Adam.Larson@wisconsin.gov

National MS Society: This group has events for which they need volunteer photographers to capture photos of teams, participants and other volunteers. A complimentary lunch is provided, and volunteer hours are flexible.

Chisago Community Education: They are looking for a photographer to teach an introduction to digital photography for younger students the week of June 19-23 during Summer Enrichment Week.

Competition:

Interclub competition:
This annual competition is sponsored by the Twin Cities Area Council of Camera Clubs (TCACCC). Our camera club is affiliated with the TCACCC, so this annual competition is open to all our club members. Past results are available on the TCACCC website: https://cameracouncil.org/

Entering contests is a prime way of improving your skills. Feedback is limited in this contest to a rating or a score with over 1,000 entries to be judged. However, you do get some idea of your skill in relation to other photographers. More important, entering makes you look more closely at your own photos to see what you like or what you would improve in them. This process is what leads to growth.
